By launching its web site on June 30, 2008, the Security Intelligence Agency wanted to give the citizens a feeling of security and tranquility, continue acting according to law and carrying out its basic task – to protect the national security and interests of the Republic of Croatia, and thus also of all of its citizens.
We wanted to explain and make transparent our work, our duties and achievements within the bounds determined by the specificity of the SOA tasks.
We live in the world in which changes are happening daily, so we shall take this opportunity to refer to our work during the past six months.
In that period we have developed a number of new ideas, trying to synchronize them with the already well-proven methods that will most certainly supplement the contents of the existing web sites in the future.
It is well-known that in Croatia there are more than a million of registered Internet users. To be present on the web is imperative nowadays, at the same time being the simplest and fastest way of presenting oneself to the users.
By launching its Internet site, the Security Intelligence Agency has given information to its users about the Agency itself, its structure, history, scope of activities and authorities.
In the first six months following its launch, the SOA Internet site has been visited by 78.648 visitors; 66% from the Republic of Croatia and 33% from abroad.
25.84% of citizens found the SOA Internet site through the Internet browser, following the link soa.hr, whereas 16.8% visited its pages through its original address www.soa.hr. The most frequently used search engine was Google.
The most visited section was “Admission to Service” – total of 37.824, i.e. 58% of visitors have read its contents.
Big interest was taken in the “Terminology Glossary” – it has been viewed 13.840 times (11.4%), as well as the “Useful Links” - 7.226 times (9.94%).
We are facing new challenges and we are sure that you will be following our further work, so far directed and guided through your answers to our poll questions and numerous supporting letters you have sent by e-mail.
