SOA gathers, analyzes, processes and evaluates data of political, economic, scientific-technical or security nature, which relate to foreign countries, organizations, political and economic alliances, groups or individuals, especially those indicating the existence of intention, capability, secret plan or covert activity intended to threaten the national security, i.e., data relevant for the national security and the interests of the Republic of Croatia.
SOA also monitors current developments and provides daily reports to the President of the Republic of Croatia, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, which facilitates planning of their activities in specific problem areas.
SOA carries out researches, and analyzes occurrences and events relevant for the foreign policy, security, economic or scientific/technological interests of the Republic of Croatia. SOA researches and analyzes security occurrences and events within the territory of the Republic of Croatia and abroad, and gathers data on individuals and organizations, occurrences and events which threaten or affect international security and cooperation.
SOA organizes the conduct of other operative activities in cases of emergency/crisis situations abroad, and actively participates in supporting and preparing Croatian civilians and military components of international peacekeeping missions.
